What does over and under mean in betting: Understanding Sports Wagering Terms

Sports betting can be confusing, especially with terms like “over” and “under.” These popular wagers refer to the total combined score in a game. Here’s how they work:

  • Over: You bet the total score will be higher than the set number.
  • Under: You bet the total score will be lower than the set number.

For example, if the over/under is set at 50 points and the final score is 30-25 (totaling 55 points), an “over” bet wins. Conversely, if the score is 20-15 (totaling 35 points), an “under” bet wins.
